This is the record of 10 days spent running up in Iten, Kenya. I stayed at the High Altitude
Training Center, a mecca for long-distance runners the world over.
Iten sits at 7,000 feet above sea level and has produced so many marathon winners that it is known
as the 'Home of Champions'.
On a normal morning at the Kamariny Stadium you can see current and former marathon winners training
in the red dirt: Mo Farrah, Duncan Kibet, Sharon Cherop...and people like me, moseying in the dirt,
repeatedly lapped by greatness.
I want to stress that I am neither an athlete nor a writer. These notes are meant as a record of the thought and context so often missed by photography.
